Commuting to ATR
~ From Takanohara Area (Takanohara-ekinishi-danchi etc.) ~

1. Take a train of Kintetsu (近鉄) line from Takanohara
(高の原) Station to Shin-hosono (新祝園) Station
2. Walk pass Hosono (祝園) Station of JR line and go down the stairs to the bus stops in front of Hosono Station
3. Take a bus of Nara-kotsu (奈良交通) to "ATR", a bus stop located in front of ATR.

For those who are applicable, ATR shall pay the cost of the longest-termed commuter pass according to the period of your contract.
(e.g. If the period of your contract is 6 months or more and you
start taking a commuting route on April 1, ATR pays the cost of a 6-month
commuter pass on payday in April with salary. If the period of your contract is
4 months starting from April, the cost of a 3-month pass is paid in April and
the cost of a 1-month pass is paid in July.)

- Commuter passes can be purchased by making a reservation on the website and picked up at an automatic ticket vending machine at the station. You can also pay by credit card.
How to buy ICOCA commuter pass.
- How to travel further with a pass:
- Pass: If you travel further
than the original route, you only pay the fare for the additional
segment of the route at your destination. For example, if you get on
a train at Takanohara with a pass for between Takanohara and Shin-hosono
and get off at Kyoto beyond Shin-hosono, you put your pass and 440 yen
into an exit fare machine at Kyoto and go through a ticket gate
inserting a ticket given by the machine, instead of a 680 yen regular
ticket.If you have a rechargeable IC commuter pass and charge it first, you do not have to pay at the exit.

- Go out from ticket gates of Shin-hosono 新祝園 Station to the right, walk pass Hosono 祝園 Station of JR
line, and go down the stairs to the bus stops.

How to travel further with a pass/coupon tickets:

Pass: If you travel further than the original route, you only pay the fare for the
additional segment of the route, as with the commuter pass of Kintetsu Train.

Student discount is only availabe for Nara Kotsu Bus and not for
Kintetsu Railway. In this case, you can not combine the commutater passes into
one card.

How to buy CI-CA commuter pass.
- Put a CI-CA card on a card reader, or pick up a numbered ticket (整理券 seiriken) without a CI-CA card.
- Press a button just before the bus stop you want to get off in order to ask the driver to stop.
- Put a CI-CA card on a card reader or drop coins ticket with your numbered ticket in a fare box next to the driver, and get off.
