Keihanna Research Complex Holds Its Startup Acceleration Program’s Result-Reporting Session
- How Startups from Home and Abroad Have Challenged Proof-of-Concept (PoC) of Their Products/Services with Japanese Big Companies -

Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR), as one of the core organizations of the Keihanna Research Complex project called Keihanna RC, in charge of the promotion of commercialization and innovation hub, will host a results-reporting session of Keihanna Global Acceleration Program Plus (KGAP+)” by 10-first-batch-startups during Kyoto Smart City Expo 2019, to be held on October 3rd and 4th at Keihanna Open Innovation Center

Utilizing Keihanna RC’s collaborative ties with global innovation hubs from Israel, New York City (US) and Silicon Valley (US), Barcelona (Spain) and Canada, and Keihanna Science City’s function and strength as a PoC promoter, KGAP+ enables startups of those hubs or Japan to link up with Japanese major companies in pursuance of joint PoC or pilot testing. At the end of the 3-months-program, Keihanna RC provides an opportunity for selected startups to participate in a special program in Barcelona or New York City, which will surely encourage their practical global advancement.

During the global pitch event “Demo Day (October 3rd, 13:50-16:40)” at Kyoto Smart City Expo 2019, the first-10-startups of KGAP+ will deliver their program achievements since its start on July 22nd. They will be also available at Keihanna RC’s exhibition booth (1-303). The report contents introduction of the second-batch-startups (10 companies, September 30th - December 17th). We believe that such exhibition will help promoting further linkage between those startups and business partners, which is an ultimate goal of KGAP+ itself.

Keihanna RC, through KGAP+, will continue strengthening Keihanna Science City to be a hub for startups from Japan and overseas, availing extension of their business opportunities at global innovation bases.
